Russell Marvin Look Sr.

Born November 27, 1935 in Peoria to Evert and Catherine (Johnson) Look, he married Jane Diane Christe on August 14, 1955 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are six children, Cynthia Brandt of Lexington, Russell (Leann) Look of South Elgin, Bradley (Clayton Stang) Look of Los Angeles, California, Craig (Anne) Look of Princeville, Andrew Look of Bartonville, and Christopher (Christine) Look of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristina) Brandt of Ringgold, Georgia, Robert “RJ” Brandt, Catrina “Cati” (Andy) Dambold, Sarah Look, Caroline Look, Evan Look, Paige (Adam) Miesle, Rachel (Alexander) Miesle, and Maxwell Look; eight great-grandchildren, Victoria Brandt, Isaac Brandt, Solomon Brandt, Gabriella Brandt, Ezra Brandt, Garrett Dambold, Brady Dambold, and Harper Miesle and two brothers, David W. Look of Winchester, Virginia, and Howard (Judy) Look of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Evert Look; one grandson, Jacob Look; one son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Brandt and one brother-in-law, Terry Frye.

Russell was a veteran of the United States Air National Guard.

He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 42 years before retiring on October 1, 1996.

Russ enjoyed golfing, fishing, working on the farm, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed going on vacations to Branson, Missouri and Northern Wisconsin.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Pastor Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bartonville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
