Ruth Ann Rouse

Born April 7, 1945 in Kewanee to Howard and Emma (Carter) Dennis, she married Maynard “Manny” Rouse on November 11, 1983 in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years; one daughter, Nicole Geiger of Morton; one son, Stephen Cornaghie of Morton; one step-daughter, Sarah Rouse of Creve Coeur; one step-son, Larry Rouse of Missouri; one grandson, Cole Geiger of Normal; three step-grandchildren, Mary Ann Dains, Michael Rouse and Thomas Rouse; one sister, Jeanne (John) Hayduke of Florida; several nieces and nephews, including Howard (Angie) Dennis and Diane Dennis and several great-nieces and nephews, including Kayleen Dennis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant twin siblings, Mary and Larry; two brothers, Howard Dennis and Marvin Dennis and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Dennis.

Ruth had taught grade school at Peoria Public Schools District 150 for 35-plus years before retiring in 2004.

She loved to read, watch gameshows, travel that lead to 29 cruises and cook with her husband, Manny. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

A gathering celebrating Ruth’s life will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at her home. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
