

Born June 7, 1940 in Galesburg to Samuel M. and Helen (Bjorling) Wrigley, he married Phyllis J. Koch Johnson on June 2, 1964 in Toulon. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jason Wrigley of Pekin; one step-granddaughter, Cassie Murray of East Peoria; one step-grandson, Brandon (Amy) Carroll of Mapleton; and one step-great-grandson, Jackson Carroll of Mapleton; and one brother, James Wrigley of Atkison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Rick Johnson.
Sam graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Bradley University in 1963, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He earned a second Bachelor's degree in 1964.
He worked as a safety engineer at Komatsu Mining Systems for 13 years, retiring in 2003.
Sam was a golf enthusiast and former member of Lake Bracken Country Club and Sunset Hills Country Club. He also was an avid Bradley basketball fan and Chicago Bears fan. He was of the Protestant faith.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Toulon Cemetery in Toulon. The Rev. Wayne McLeod will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
