Born March 16, 1941 in Morrison to Harry and Leola (Grosenbach) Dodson, she married James Black. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tim Black.
Surviving are her daughter, Lyn (James) Lindsey of Peoria; three grandchildren, Alyssa Lindsey, Tim (Brooke) Black II, and James Lindsey, all of Peoria; one sister, Diane (Bill) Osbourne; and one brother, Paul (Judy) Weir.
Sandy worked as a housekeeper at Proctor Endowment Home for 28 years before retiring.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cats, art and was an avid reader. She spent much of her time watching game shows, The Voice and solving puzzles. She especially enjoyed dancing on Saturday nights at Bogey’s.
A gathering celebrating Sandy’s life will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Timberlake Club of Peoria, 5501 West Farmington Road, Peoria, IL 61604.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
