Sandra J Pullen

Sandra was born December 11, 1946 in Paxton to Paul and Louise (Harden) Dixon. She married Robert Dearborn in 1967 and later divorced. Sandra married Gerald Pullen on May 29, 1982.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald; one son, Timothy (and Colleen) Dearborn of Blue Island; four daughters, Teresa (and David) Barr of Bartonville, Tonya (and Mark) McArthy of Mackinaw, Sheri (and Eric) Callis of Channahon, and Dusti (and John) Magemeneas of Plainfield. She was blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren, Tess McArthy, Tate McArthy, Skylar Callis, T.C. Callis, Mason Magemeneas, Gloria Lynne Magemeneas, Lydia Magemeneas, and Sylvia Magemeneas. Also surviving are three sisters, Judy Dickson of Pekin, Barbara (and Michael) Wells of Keller, Texas, and Patricia Dixon of Pekin; and two brothers, James (and Mary) Dixon of Henderson, Nevada and Donald (and Melinda) Dixon of Grant, Alabama.

Sandra had a wonderful love for the Lord, and witnessed faithfully her entire life, even through her illness. She attended Grace Church in Morton.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life’s mission was to help others and she so enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.

Sandra had been a teacher for two years at Washington Junior High School in Pekin and six years at Forman Grade School in Manito. She also worked at Caterpillar for twenty years, retiring in July of 1996.

She loved to travel, camp, ride her horse, ride her motor scooter, bicycle, kayak, play the mountain dulcimer, and work in her huge garden.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, 500 North 4th Street in Pekin. Pastor Steve Kellerstrass will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
