

Born October 24, 1909 in Fort Branch, Indiana to Lander and Edna (Meade) Scott, she married Wrater Gray "Doc" Burton on May 8, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana. He died April 6, 2004 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter (Betty Jo Burton in 1931), one brother (Gilbert Scott), and one sister (Maxine Clark).
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara L. (G. Ronald) Runyan of Pekin; four grandchildren, G. Cheryl (Donald) Lewis of Flagstaff, Arizona, Vicki L. Wallin of Fort Myers, Florida, Bradley A. Runyan of Pekin, and Lori A. Schmitt of Keller, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer A. Lietz of Keller, Texas, Hilary P. Flack of Peoria, Christopher S. Lewis and Kari D. Lewis, both of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Natalee J. Runyan of Pekin; and one great-great-grandson, Terrell I. Duffy.
She was a 1927 graduate of Fort Branch High School in Fort Branch, Indiana.
Pauline worked for the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors Corporation in Anderson, Indiana for 30 years, retiring 1972 as an inspector on the production line.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Myers, Florida, where she had served on the Welcoming committee.
Pauline enjoyed shopping, cooking, and writing letters to family and friends.
Her funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be two hours before the funeral. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) Thursday at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana.
