PEKIN ~ Sarah Lynn Brewer, 39, of Pekin, went to sleep and passed away from the arms of her loving family into the arms of God at 6:57 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born April 12, 1982 in Pekin to Richard L. and Karen Sue (Everly) Brewer. She was their world. She was born with Down Syndrome and severe heart and lung disease.
Sarah was given a short life expectancy, but she loved life, brought so much joy and touched the lives of everyone she knew.
Surviving are her parents of Pekin; one sister, Rachel (Christopher) Dean of Fountain, Colorado; maternal grandmother, Luetta Everly of Pekin; four nieces; three aunts and uncles and eight cousins.
She was her happiest when she was with her sister, Rachel, her soulmate, who she loved more than anything in the world. She loved her brother-in-law and adored her four nieces, Claire, Isabella, Eloise and Charlotte, who she called her babies.
Sarah loved being with her grandma, Luetta and being constantly spoiled by her aunts and uncles, who she loved to make laugh. Growing up her cousins let her have her way and brought her so much joy and happiness. She was the family comedian and brought laughter wherever she was.
She was loved by many friends, who treated her like their own family and she loved them and doing things with them.
Sarah loved the Three Stooges, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, Gaither music and everything Disney.
She was welcomed into heaven with open arms by her grandma and grandpa, Dorothy and Chester Brewer, her grandpa, Charles Everly and uncle, Randy.
Sarah was a lifetime member of Zion Baptist Church in Pekin, where she was always the star of the Christmas Program.
The family does not know how they will go on without the light of their lives, but they know there is no more sickness, no medicines, needs of oxygen, no wheelchairs and she is dancing with the angels.
Her private funeral will be at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. The family request that those attending wear masks and practice social distancing. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
