

Born September 19, 1954 in Pekin to Robert E. and Barbara J. (Hornecker) Marquardt, he was raised by his mother and adoptive father, Gene Beecham.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Beecham Reno of Pekin; one brother, Randy (Kathy) Beecham of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Julie (Steve) Mulvey of Pekin; three nephews; and one great-niece.
His father and adoptive father preceded him in death.
Scott was a graduate of Pekin Community High School where he was a member of the speech team and was in many accelerated classes. He was elected to the National Honor Society during his junior year at PCHS. He also graduated from Illinois Central College in East Peoria and later Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
Following college, Scott managed two new Bacarach stores near Los Angeles. While living in California, he was involved with various acting groups. He moved back to Peoria about six years ago and continued acting in many plays at Cornstock Theater.
Scott was working for the Royal Bank of Scotland Lync as a salesman at the time of his death.
A member of Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, he assisted with the church drama team, was a member of the men's bible study group, and was on the start-up team for planning the new Lifebridge Church in downtown Peoria. He also attended First United Methodist Church in Pekin. He volunteered at the Southside Mission in Peoria.
Scott enjoyed fishing, playing the piano, and singing. His greatest passion was acting. But most of all, he loved his family where he showed his love for them and for God.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Lonnie Whisker and Rev. Terry Edele will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and also one hour before the funeral Wednesday, both at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
