

Born April 23, 1939 in Pekin, she was a daughter of John Camile and Dorothy Eileen (Pfeiffer) Munge. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Suzanne (Mike) Hattery of Littleton, Colorado and Camille Wieburg of Silverdale, Washington; one brother, Mark Munge of Las Vegas, Nevada; five nephews, Brett (Tawan) Wieburg of Sammamish, Washington, Trent (Kate) Wieburg of Seattle, Washington, Tyler (Amy) Hattery of Park Ridge, Brady Hattery of Denver, Colorado and Ben (Eva) Munge of Chicago; four great nieces; two great nephews and one great-great-niece.
Sharon worked for Tazewell County in the Circuit Clerk’s Office at the Court House for 30 years, retiring in 2020. She previously worked 10 years at Corn Products Company in Pekin and began her working career at Caterpillar.
She was an expert seamstress and was the family historian. Sharon had a special connection with her nephews, who were the light of her life.
Sharon was a 1957 graduate of Pekin Community High School and was proud to have been selected as Miss Pekin in the late 1950’s.
A service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. The family will be hosting a reception following the cemetery service from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Sunset Hills Eatery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
