Shirley M Marshall

Born February 25, 1929 in Malone Township, rural Tazewell County to Jonathan and Leona (Forbes) Drake, she married Roy Allen Marshall on July 18, 1953. He died February 11, 1986 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Virginia Allen McMahan, Sue Lynn Drake, and Elsie Ann Drake.

Surviving are two sons, Brad (Gail) Marshall of Pekin and Greg (Lois) Marshall of Irvine, CA; one daughter, Jeannie (Mike) Mallicoat of Creve Coeur; three grandchildren, Joe Marshall, Jenna Marshall, and Jackson Marshall; and three sisters, Margaret (Lawrence, Jr.) Farlin of South Pekin, Bonnie Wagler of Pekin, and Phyllis (John) Bracey of Canton, MO.

Shirley worked at the American Distilling Company in Pekin for over 30 years. She later worked for Farlin’s Cleaning Company.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin.

Shirley was very family oriented and was a giving person. She also was very creative and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Steven Rowell, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Green Valley Cemetery.
