Shirley L Riley

She was born January 6, 1926 in Waukegan, IL to William Edward and Elise Mary (Slavin) Riley. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lorranine Renouf and one brother, Kenneth Riley.

Surviving are one niece, Diane (Fred) Peterson of Pekin and two great-nieces, Margaret Peterson and Sharon (Keegan) Roberson, both of Pekin.

Shirley was a Group Leader for Fansteel for 39 years, retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and doing word searches. She loved to pray for people on Tuesdays, eating out with friends on Wednesdays and her Thursday Bible study. She also enjoyed taking care of her two cats.

Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin and Immanuel Baptist of Waukegan.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Paul B. Isom will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday July 24, 2015 at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The HOPE Chest Pekin, 1106 Derby St., Pekin, IL 61554.
