Born November 25, 1947 in Pekin to Henry A. and Veldia G. (Taylor) Kohler, she married Harold E. Woolard on November 8, 1969 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Shaun (Lauren) Woolard of Gurnee; one granddaughter, Reese M. Woolard of Gurnee; one sister, Loretta (Frank) Shue; and one brother, Steve (Violet) Kohler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Carl Kohler; and two sisters, Doris Osterman and Diane Kohler.
Shirley was a member of the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
A homemaker, she loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed swimming at the YWCA, bowling, fishing and playing cards in the Pinochle club with her friends. She was also a Union Mission Sunday School teacher for a number of years.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
