Born March 31, 1948 in Los Angeles, California to Robert L. and Helma F. (Groning) Roripaugh, he married Glenna Bonita Watkins on May 31, 1988 in Henderson, Kentucky. She passed away on January 6, 2026. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Dale Roripaugh.
Surviving are one daughter, Samantha (Derek) Trumpy of Manito; one son, Wesley John Roripaugh of Manito and four grandchildren, Dominic Trumpy, Jaxton Trumpy, Castiel Trumpy and Phoenix Trumpy.
Steve was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
He worked as an airplane mechanic for Trans World Airlines for 25 years retiring in 1992.
Steve enjoyed working in his garage, playing games with his family and building airplanes and ships.
