Sue Barton

Born March 2, 1942 in Pekin to Godfrey and Verna (Shallenberger) Munter, she married Gary Barton on February 25, 1978 in Washington.

Surviving are her husband; 2 daughters, Susan Hale of Pensacola, Florida and Tracie Barrett of Havana; 2 step-daughters, Sherry Lynn Dion of Orlando, Florida and Christine Mertes of Oglesby; 1 step-son, Gary Barton II of San Diego, California; 4 grandsons; 3 brothers, Jack (Brenda) Munter of East Peoria, Gale (Dora) Munter, and Don Munter, both of Pekin (All of whom she helped raise); and 1 sister, Peg (Paul) Putney of Niceville, Florida.

She was preceded in death by 1 son; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Sue had been a self-employed tax accountant for 25 years.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, and Tuesday BINGO at the AMVETS in Pekin.  She also loved being around family and grandkids.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral.  Cremation will follow the funeral.
