

Born June 26, 1949 in Pekin to Woodrow “Bud” and Darlene (Munter) Althiser, she married Mike Klein in 1989. He preceded her in death. Sue was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two sons, Scott Hancock of Pekin and Chad (Sherry) Hancock of Coconut Creek, Florida; one sister, Mary Ann Godby of Pekin; one brother, Tim (Leigh) Althiser of Pekin; two nieces, Anna (Jeff) Riegelein of Mapleton and Katlyn (Paul) Pollitt-Falkner of Indiana; two grandchildren, Kayla and Kelsey Hancock of Florida; two nephews, Nick Althiser of Pekin and Danny (Tiahna) Althiser of Washington; two great nephews, Cru and Briggs Althiser of Washington; great niece Ava Riegelein of Mapleton; and beloved friends, George and Tina Rudd of Glasford.
Sue was a woman of the Lutheran Faith. She enjoyed every moment that she spent with her family, especially Thanksgiving. Sue was a fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. She took a special liking to her son, Scott’s homemade chili.
Sue was a 1967 graduate of Pekin Community High School. She began her career working with her mother Darlene, and her sister Mary Ann at Merle Norman in Pekin. Sue later worked as a secretary for Hawk Insurance in Peoria prior to her retirement.
A gathering celebrating Sue's life will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Pekin Moose Lodge, 2605 Broadway Street in Pekin.
