

PEKIN~ T. Mae Stovall, 91, of Pekin, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Timbercreek Rehab & Healthcare in Pekin. She was formerly of South Pekin.
Born April 14, 1924 in Monterey, Kentucky to Joe Gus and Nettie (Wallace) Holbert, she married Floyd D. “Chip” Stovall on July 21, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. He died August 21, 2001 in Morton. She also was preceded in death by her son, Floyd D. “David” Stovall, Jr. on December 8, 2002 in Pekin; six brothers; two sisters; her step-father, Thomas Kemp; and one half-sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Saundra (Roger) Laurent of Manito; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John “Joe” Holbert of Cincinnatti, Ohio; and one half-brother, Thomas Kemper, Jr. of Owenton, Kentucky.
Mae was a faithful and devoted member of Pekin First Church of God.
She had worked for the American Distilling Company in Pekin for 27 years, retiring in 1997. She worked on the bottling line and last worked in cleaning. Prior to that, she had worked as a waitress and cook at Arlington Restaurant for five years.
Mae was a lifetime member of the Roy L. King VFW Post #1232 Ladies Auxiliary in Pekin.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she loved being with her family. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, visiting friends at the nursing homes and traveling.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Johnny Creasong will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
