So sorry to hear of Terry's passing. I have very fond memories of our times together. He will be missed!

My sincerest sympathy to all the family.  To hear of Terry's passing is so very sad and unexpected at such a young age... Terry will be remembered as having a tenacious personality with never settling for less than mediocre.  He persevered at everything he set his mind to and thus, was always successful at every endeavor. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and charm. May your hearts heal quickly as you process this loss and may you never forget his beautiful smile.



I remember Terry from Cahill elementary. We competed fiercely in track and field. I will always remember that the kid could run and high jump...yep he always beat me and I remember how mad I got...where does the time go? I remember you Terry. May you rest in peace in God's arms.

To the friends and family of Terry,
I want you all to know that I will miss Terry for the rest of my life.  He was one of my favorite people to work with because of his humor and his big heart.
I pray that our Lord will comfort you all during this time.

Captain Adams was so kind to me - we flew together and commuted together.  He was a true role model to me. We spoke of several things, but his love for his family and flying were always evident.
My heart is heavy for his family and I will keep them in my  thoughts and prayers.  Terry will always be a part of how I conduct myself - as like everyone, I was lucky to have known him.


My thoughts and prayers are with Terry's mom Sandra, and sister Val, and his longtime partner Toni and her children. His Grandmother and all of his family. It is impossible to sum up in words, but Terry truly had a positive impact on the lives of so many people. He was a consummate professional, but more importantly he was a great friend. He was a kind person, and always willing to help in very constructive ways. We first met at UND as flight students, and immediately became good friends. No matter how much time passed since we last spoke we always picked up like it was yesterday. He had great honor and respect for all those he loved. On a regular basis he faithfully cleaned and polished the stone where his father is buried. I accompanied him once, and he would talk about him with deep reverence, as he did of many family members and loved ones. He will be greatly missed. His kindness, and his hearty laugh and big smile will always be remembered.

I flew with Terry a few times in 2006 when we were based in Newark and he was commuting from Spokane. He was professional, an excellent pilot, and still he didn't take himself too seriously. He had GREAT stories. I could tell from those stories that he loved his family, aviation, and like me was a serious dog lover. 

Over the years, I have seen Terry in the Houston crew lounge occasionally and caught up with him. He was always positive and trying to help people. 

Every time I see Mount Adams (Terry's mountain) flying into the Pacific Northwest, I will think of Terry. He will be missed!

Terry and I flew the same trip to Seattle and Anchorage for about 3 years. He was the best Captain to work with! Flying with Terry always meant to me a great trip! His sense of humor was just like mine and his roaring laugh was contagious.  We flew into some pretty nasty weather at times and I learned a lot just from watching him fly, for that I will always be grateful. 
Terry was a man of great kindness and respect that helped many pilots, that went though difficult times in their careers. I know many pilots who are just like me shocked and so saddened at the loss of our friend. 
Terry was a great pilot, but better yet a great person, I will always treasure my memories of getting to hangout with him!  My sincerest sympathies to your family.

Terry and I went to UND together but I didn't' really get to know him until he moved into our crash pad in EWR. We shared a room for a few months. Terry was a thoughtful engaging person and I enjoyed getting to know him. Terry will be sorely missed by many of his co-workers.

I had only flown with Terry a couple of times, but it was enough to leave a lasting impression. He was a Captain and person I would strive to emulate in many regards... right down to his impeccable penmanship. So sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers for his friends and family.

I have been fortunate to have known Terry over the past several years.  The capacity which I spent time with Terry and Toni meant I was able to go camping with them, spend various holidays together and simply just hangout.  The main thing I will always remember about Terry was his sense of humor and his infectious smile.  The guy could make you laugh!  As the Dakota Indians say “we will be known forever by the tracks we leave”.  Terry, you have left some pretty amazing tracks by the people you have touched throughout your life.   You will never be forgotten.  I pray that your family will find peace in this difficult time.  

I'm shocked and saddened to hear of Terry's death. My deepest condolences to Family and his Partner. As Leonardo da Vinci once quoted: When once you tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you always will be.  Godspeed Terry Adams you will be truly missed.  

Terry and I flew together at CAL.  He was such a kind, genuinely good person, and a great Captain.  Even though we only flew together a couple of times, he made it on my list of pilots who I would always remember and like.  We saw each other many times in passing at airports and he always remembered me and reached out to see how my family and I were doing.  I'm so sorry for his sudden passing.  My thoughts and support go out to his friends, family, and partner.  


Dear Val and family.
Words cannot express the emptiness and questions that you all must be experiencing . May the fond memories of Terry that you all treasure shine over the sadness of now. Sunshine will show its splendor in Terry's pictures and in your hearts.

 I was a friend and co-worker with Terry at Air Midwest Airlines under there American. Eagle division in BNA on the EMB-120s . I remember the first trip I met him on. I was a newbie to the flight attendants my first trip and I was gonna be in back with 30 passengers all by myself I was nervous but elated to fly as I love being in the sky. Terry was there to greet me with a huge infectious smile and a sparkle in his eyes as he was just as excited to fly this new aircraft as I was. His enthusiasm calmed me . Terry and I and Paul Stott flew many trips together and became great friends we did many things together on our days off. Because we missed our families so much, we kinda made our own little family. To you Terry's mother you raised a great son and to you Terry's partner I have no words for your loss I'm sure it is emense. He will be gone but never forgotten. God Bless the family members left behind and may Terry's soul rest in peace with our dear savior.

You have influenced our lifes with your witt and kindness and we are in disbelief that you are no longer with us. We miss you.

I flew and hung out with Terry quite a bit when we were both based in Nashville working for Air Midwest. Terry was a good friend and an outstanding pilot. I consider it a priviledge to have known and worked with him.

Sandra and Val, I am truly sorry to hear of Terry's passing. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. So sad...may he rest in peace.

During our years at UND, Continental, and United Terry was always a genuine friend and admired coworker. We learned to fly together, instructed together and followed our dreams.   He will be missed greatly.

Dear Sandra, Valerie and family. I deeply mourn the loss of your beloved Terry.  He achieved so much in his lifetime and positively influenced the lives of many people.  Terry and I spent time together during one of your hospital visits, Sandra.  He was so concerned about my own health issues.  I cherish his words of encouragement to me. I share one of my favorite Bible verses. May you draw comfort and strength from it as I have during difficult times.

I was so shocked and sad to hear of Terry's death. Terry and I have known each other since college and have worked at Continental Airlines now United our entire careers.  Terry was a gentleman and a good friend I will miss him. May God Bless Terry and comfort his family during this difficult time.
