Theresa N Payne

Theresa was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Iuka, to Charlie and Minnie Williamson. She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

She is survived by the love of her life, and husband of 66 years, Alvia Payne; her brother, Cartheal Williamson; her three children, Sue (John) Thayer, Steve (Janet) Payne, and Cathy (Tim) Calsyn; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Theresa and Alvia were married March 14, 1950, and shared 66 beautiful years together, traveling the country and experiencing life to the fullest. Theresa was an ardent lover of gardening and yard work, especially mowing. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, bingo, and visiting the casino. Theresa fostered a loving environment for her family and everyone she met. She loved telling stories, jokes, and making people smile.

Theresa will be waiting patiently for Alvia to join her in dancing in the River Jordan.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with the Rev. Jason Borton officiating.
