

He was born January 20, 1938 in Peoria to Howard and Mable (Sweeny) Rogers, he married Wanda Lower on November 17, 1978 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Patrick (Janet) Rogers of Peoria, Deborah Miller, Angela Longmire, Rebecca (Darren) Flynn and Jason Boggs, all of Pekin and Robyn (Luis) Rosales of Dateland, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Betty Schauble of Elmwood, Patricia (John) Guifoyle and William (Mary Alice) Rogers, both of East Peoria and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Rogers and two grandchildren, Angel Rosales and Johnathan Longmire.
Tom was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of the UAW Local 974 and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria in 1995 as a tool and die maker after 32 years of service.
Tom loved fishing, building and working on computers and also had a love for watching and racing cars. He was a very strong believer in holistic medicine.
He was of the Catholic faith.
His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Father Michael Andrejek will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be provided by Tazewell Military Rites Team.
