

Born April 26, 1930 in East Peoria to Theodore and Alice (Mann) Keayes, she married Robert Vogelsang on October 20, 1951 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two grandsons, Matthew Vogelsang of San Antonio, Texas and Robert Vogelsang of Houston, Texas; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Marilyn Perrilles of Bartonville. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Barbara Sue Vogelsang on May 5, 2013 and Vickie Lynn Vogelsang on November 25, 2015, both in Houston, Texas. Two brothers, Frank Keayes and James Keayes also preceded her in death.
Virginia worked for JC Penney’s in the Pekin, first in their snack bar for 8 years and then in the catalog and credit department. She retired in 1995 as a supervisor. She used to play bingo quite often and enjoyed bowling as a couple for many years. In earlier years, she enjoyed roller skating, which is how she and Robert first met.
Virginia was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Her private funeral service will be Monday, April 20, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
