He was born November 18, 1941 in Beardstown to William and Betty (Smith) Lemon. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela (Kenny) Bee of Pekin and Ashley (Randal) Hook of Mooresville, North Carolina; one son, Troy (Terrie) Lemon of Delavan; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Claire, Cory, Kenny, Tyler, Holly and Mia; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, LeAnn Vogel of Pekin.
Butch had served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 and the Pekin Family Moose Center #916.
He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for over 30 years, retiring in 1995.
Butch was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services or visitation. Private inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
