William "Bill" Stallings

Born March 19, 1946 in Peoria to Ralph L. and Jemima A. (Holland) Stallings, he married Ruthann Allard on July 27, 1968 in Pekin. She died August 1, 2021 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tabitha Ann Stallings on August 13, 2021 in Peoria; one sister, Elizabeth Harris and one infant brother, Ralph Lee Stallings.

Surviving are one daughter, Tiffany (Brett) Diekhoff of Pekin; three grandchildren, Savannah Diekhoff, Sydney Diekhoff and Samantha Diekhoff; a brother-in-law, David Harris of Oklahoma and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Springer and Linda “Sissy” Smith, both of Pekin. He also leaves his companion, Gloria Leadley of Pekin.

He was a graduate of Limestone High School and attended Illinois Central College.

Bill was a firefighter with the Pekin Fire Department and proudly served the City of Pekin for 33 years before retiring in 2006.

He loved spending time with his family, especially being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and was fond of old cars.

Bill was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.

His graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Krista Price will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
