William D Weiss

Born February 29, 1944 in Peoria to Roland Frederick and Lorraine B. (Weyhrich) Weiss, he married Terry L. McCoy on June 2, 1984 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, William R. (Christine) Weiss of Stuart, Florida; one step-son, Timothy L. (Jennifer McCarson) Canopy of Green Valley; and one sister, Carol Weiss of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Kayrn Ann Weiss.

Bill worked for R.A. Cullinan and Son, Inc. in Tremont for 43 years, retiring in 2006 as the purchasing agent. He was a member of Teamsters & Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, National Hot Rod Association, Tazewell County Farm Bureau, Ducks Unlimited, and Pekin Elk's Lodge #1271.

Bill enjoyed going to car shows and drag races.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009at the Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Bruce Bolin Ghitalla will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
