

Born June 23, 1928 in Kingston Mines to William Lee and Ruth S. (Bradley) Scott, she married Robert “Bob” Franklin Mitchell June 26, 1948 in Kingston Mines. He died January 9, 1994.
She was also preceded by her parents; one son, William Mitchell; two sisters, Betty Matz and Norma Baker and two brothers, William and James Scott.
Surviving are two daughters, Roberta (Larry) Ziegler and Jenifer (Steve) Schafer; one daughter-in-law, Ann Mitchell; nine grandchildren, Cara (Erik) Helminski, Tyler (Chandy) Ziegler, Trent (Laura Pendleton) Ziegler, Megan (Brian) Cline, Melissa Mitchell, Robert (Jessica) Mitchell, Ryne (Jill) Schafer, Stephani (Kerri) Schafer and Abbi (Logan) Webb; and 18 great-grandchildren, Evan Wendt, Ella and Emma Helminski, Colton, Caden, Burke and Kathleen Ziegler, Brooks, Audrey and Bennet Cline, William and Margaret Lee Mitchell, Lena, Blaire, Nora, Callen and Bowen Schafer and Willa Webb.
Wilma graduated from Timber Township High School and worked at F/S (Growmark), retiring in 1983.
She was a faithful member of Glasford Baptist Church where she taught junior church and Sunday school.
Wilma enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and baking. She volunteered at the Illini Bluffs Elementary School library. Her whole world revolved around her grandkids.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Glasford Baptist Church with a memorial visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Pugh and Pastor Scott Baker will officiate. Inurnment will follow the service at Kingston Mines Cemetery.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.
