SPEER ~ Yvette Michelle Sparks, 40, of Speer, passed away at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her residence.Born November 5, 1970 in Peoria to Melvin Lee and Vickie Lynn (Clifford) Long, she married Todd A. Sparks on May 12, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.Also surviving are her mother of Chillicothe; one son, Steven Cooley of Bartonville; one step-son, Michael Sparks of Peoria; her father-in-law, William (Frances) Sparks of Chillicothe and her favorite aunt, Annie. She also leaves her faithful dog, Scotty.She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Long; one brother, Michael Long; one sister, Tracey Long and her mother-in-law, Diana Sparks.Yvette was a homemaker. She loved to crochet and enjoyed being with her family.Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor William L. Carter will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral.
