Born: April 14, 1934 in Jeffersonville, IN
Died: February 1, 2017 in Birmingham, AL
Known to everyone as Aggie, she was married to Glenn Wolfe for 59 years before his passing in 2011. Aggie was an Army wife who moved around Indiana and Florida as Glenn was reassigned to various duties while completing his career as Command Sergeant Major. She looked forward to Glenn’s two weeks away at Army summer camp to repaint and re-wallpaper the home to surprise him upon his return. Many of the moves were only to satisfy their desire to build a new home, remodel another, have a little farm for retirement, or the final move to Birmingham, Alabama. Aggie enjoyed gardening, especially growing orchids. She rescued many wilted trees and shrubs from Lowes only to bring them home to be planted somewhere in the yard. The Wolfe’s yard was always beautiful and many contained fountains and fish ponds if they weren’t living on the waterfront. Aggie loved to cook, bake desserts, and can vegetables from her garden. Her other interests included sewing clothes, draperies and items for her church. Aggie also worked in retail department stores including JC Penney and Macy’s. More recently, she moved to Danberry at Inverness where she quickly made friends as she walked her Yorkie, Chris. Aggie was most known for her love and kindness to others, always lending a helping hand.
Aggie was a member and volunteer of Christ Church United Methodist in Birmingham, AL.
Aggie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn D. Wolfe; and sisters, Martha Francis Lamoore and Cecelia Ann Brown(Bill) . Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Cathy Schellinger (Ed) and Ali Davis (Jim); daughters, Jacqui Sweet (Doug) and Derek C.S. Burr (David – deceased); son, Michael G. Wolfe (Janet); three grandchildren, Carrie Sweet (Sam George), Doug Sweet II (Corinne) and Josh Wolfe (Lexie); and two great grandchildren, Emma Button Sweet-George, and Callie Elise Sweet.
