Mrs. Anderson was born to Samuel Porter Hollingsworth and Margaret Irene Jones on January 25, 1922 in Hattiesburg MS. She married in 1946 and resided most of her life in Huntsville AL and Arab AL, before moving to Bessemer in 2003. She was a homemaker, gardener, catfish farmer, and antique dealer, and loved to travel cross country with her husband and family in a motor home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorrance Lavelle Anderson; her son, Dana Lavelle Anderson; her parents, Samuel Porter Hollingsworth and Margaret Irene Jones Hollingsworth; two sisters, Cleo Sowell and Sedaller Hollingsworth; and a brother, Samuel Hollingsworth.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Wanda Marie (Ferris Joseph) Ritchey of Helena AL; two grandchildren, Daniel Phillip (Holly) Ritchey of Helena and Sarah Roberta Carter of Atlanta GA; and two great grandchildren, David Anderson Ritchey and Lydia Dawn Ritchey of Helena.
Visitation and luncheon will begin at 12:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham AL 35124. Rev. Edward Steele officiating.
