Alice Moore

Alice Moore of Alabaster, Alabama passed peacefully on January 4, 2026. Alice and her twin, Maryann Bryne, were born on May 28, 1941, to Bruce and Marie (Rouleau) Mincel in Chicago, Il. She married Ron Moore of Chicago and was married for over 50 years until his death in 2011. She had seven surviving children, Ron Jr. of Birmingham, AL; Maria Bake of Alabaster, AL; Michael of Byhalia, MS; William (Bill) of Collierville, TN, Karyn of Montgomery, AL; Dusty Estelle of Prattville, AL; and Kimberly Longino of Orange Park, FL. She was also blessed with 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Alice always cherished very close family ties. She and Maryann were inseparable and grew up taking care of their identical twin brothers, Bob and Bill Kapas in Irma, Wisconsin. Alice was tasked with looking out for Bob, and Maryann would watch over Bill. Their close bonds have lasted throughout Bill’s lifetime and continued with Bob and Maryann until this day.

Alice’s family ties also included an extended family, too numerous to count with all the students and faculty at Falkner University in Montgomery. For nearly 30 years, Alice worked for Hill Food Services as the cafeteria manager of the University. There she served a bright smile in addition to her famous cinnamon rolls, fried chicken, and Cajun Chicken pasta. She was beloved by all and would take interest in the students and could be found responding to questions and food requests posted on a board where they could “Ask Alice.” She was very unassuming and would often end conversations or notes saying, “Just Me, Alice.” She retired in 2017 and moved to Alabaster, but often made trips back to “check up on things.”

A memorial service is planned for Alice in the JLP Dining Room at Faulkner University on January 20, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks if you would consider a donation to the Faith and Futures Endowment fund at Faulkner University.
