Alison Funk McGill, age 59, of Pelham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. A native and life-long resident of the Birmingham, Alabama area, she loved her children more than anything, and enjoyed vacation trips with them. Family was the most important aspect of her life.
Alison was employed as an interior designer at HealthSouth for over 35 years. She loved to rescue animals and capturing memories through photography.
Alison was predeceased by her mother, Judy Funk; her aunt, Margo Gibson; and the father of her children, Troy McGill.
Survivors include Alison's father, David Funk; one daughter, Claudia McGill; two sons, Alan McGill and Trace McGill; one brother, John D. Funk; one sister, Lori F. Douglas; niece, Cameron Douglas; nephew, Blake Douglas; cousins, Welsey Gibson, Jian Gibson, Phillip Gibson, and Adam Gibson; and second-cousin, Evelyn Gibson.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 1p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Alison's Life & Legacy at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham.
