Andrew Elias Ramsay Jr.

Drew attended school in Livingston, Alabama. He graduated from Livingston University with a BS and an MS in education. He taught school in Aliceville, Alabama and Lakeland, Florida.

Later, Drew entered Christian ministry and served on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ for nine years. He was associate pastor of Shades Mountain Independent Church (now Shades Mountain Community Church) in Birmingham, Alabama for many years, most of those years under Pastor Dick Vigneulle. Later he served with the missions organization World Reach, teaching pastors in Kenya, Ukraine, El Salvador and Russia.

Drew is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Knowles Ramsay; his three children, Stewart Ramsay of Pensacola, Florida, Fulton Ramsay (Lisa) of Calera, Alabama, and Bethany Redmond (Matt) of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Emma, Knox and Dylan Redmond of Birmingham; two sisters, Jane Hunt and Margaret Ramsay; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ramsay.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Shades Mountain Community Church, 2281 Old Tyler Road, Birmingham, AL 35226. Everyone is invited to A Service of Remembrance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the church. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
