

Arlen was born August 10, 1941, in Watseka, Illinois. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and faithful friend. He was strong in his faith and served his church family for many years. He loved helping others and wanted to make a difference in their lives. He was adventurous and liked to go fast.
Because of this love for adventure, Arlen completed race car driving school and skydived on his 80th birthday. He enjoyed many hobbies and was a fan of Purdue and Auburn sports. He lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of life while exuding an exemplary testament of joy, faith, and perseverance.
Arlen was a retired healthcare executive and a graduate of Purdue University. He served as chairman of the board of several boards including Brookwood Medical Center in Homewood, Alabama, United Way of Northeast Louisiana, Proxsys Rx, Komen Foundation, and others.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents, Barton and Arlene Reynolds; his loving wife of 57 years, Arlene; and daughter, Michelle Ohme.
Arlen is survived by a daughter, Nichole Futch, and son-in-law, Glenn Futch of Louisiana; three grandchildren, Hunter Montgomery of Texas, John Ohme of Wisconsin, and Micah Ohme of Alabama; several nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Henry Ohme; and Jeff and Emily Honea.
The family would like to thank Paige Brasher for her care and dedicated service.
Funeral services will be held at The Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills, Alabama on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, with visitation to commence at 10 a.m. and service to follow at 11 a.m. The church is located at 201 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216.
