A graduate of Lyeffion High School in Evergreen, Alabama, Barton earned the Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry Management from Auburn University. He worked for several years in forestry for the State of Alabama, most recently as a Assistant Regional Forester.
Barton, a U.S. Air Force veteran, was a member of the Auburn University Alumni Association. His favorite pastimes included watching Auburn and SEC sports, in addition to satisfying his appetite for almost any food served to him.
Barton is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kristopher and Stephanie Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Natalin and Nate Sipes; and three grandchildren, Cade Brady, Luke Williams, and Connor Williams.
The family will greet Barton's friends and business associates from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. The graveside service will be Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
