Ben L Chenault

Benford "Ben" L. Chenault, age 84, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on August 26, 2024. He was born to Ernest and Christine Chenault on June 27, 1940 in Decatur, Alabama. Ben was a graduate of Decatur High School and went on to play basketball at the University of Alabama and Athens College, where he received a bachelor's degree. On July 19, 1969 he married the love of his life Tony Strain Chenault and had three loving children. Ben had a lifelong successful career in Real Estate Sales and Development. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church for 50 plus years and enjoyed spending time with his bible study class. Ben enjoyed playing golf, watching basketball, and Alabama football. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Christine Chenault. He leaves behind his loving wife, Tony Strain Chenault; children, Terri D. Smitherman (Todd), Loye M. McMillan, Ben Chenault Jr. (Kim); sister; Nancy Brown; grandchildren, Erica Richardson (AJ), Amanda Smitherman, Alex Chenault, and Allie Chenault.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Lakeside Baptist Church with a celebration service to follow at 1:00 pm.
