Betty Jane Price

Betty was born on January 4, 1931 in Cuba, Alabama to William “Bill” and Bessie (Hurlbert) McGowen. Betty graduated from Sumter County High School and went on to graduate from Livingston University and The University of Montevallo. She taught Economics and Typing at Ramsay High School in Birmingham City Schools.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Wayne Lambert Price of York, Alabama.

She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Linda (Bob) Wilson and their sons Robert and Spencer (Marlee); Brenda (David) Usher and their sons Will (Kyle) and Jack (Tyla); and Sandra Liddell and her son Daniel (Allison) and daughter Katherine. She was a great grandmother to Logan, Elizabeth and Reese.

Graveside service will be held on March 31 at 2:00pm at Southern Heritage in Pelham. The family would like to thank all those who were involved in her care. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church.
