
STAFFORD, BETTY MCCANN STAFFORD, BETTY MCCANN, 77, of Pelham, Alabama, lost her battle with brain cancer on Friday morning, January 14, 2011. She was a loving and wonderful mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who took care of all. She worked for 25 years at Dewberry Engraving Company before she retired from U.S. Steel, Seamless Pipe Mill, with 22 years of service. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid gardener and landscaping enthusiast. Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.T. McCann; sister, Billie Jean Shirley; and granddaughter, Shonda Stafford. Survivors include one son, Paul Stafford (Sharon); one daughter, Linda Waldrop (Jerry); grandchildren, Tammy Simpson Howell (Tim), Jerry L. Waldrop (Amy), and Jeremy Stafford (Sheree); great-grandchildren, Layton Waldrop, Meri Blake Waldrop, Madison Waldrop, Evan Simpson, and Noah Grace Stafford; brother, Thomas Wayne McCann (Sandra); sister, Shirley Aldridge (Gene); nieces; nephews; cousins; and loving friends. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The graveside funeral service will be at 1 p.m. the same day at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
