Mrs. Forrest was raised in Belle Glade, graduating from Belle Glade High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Randy Forrest, in 1955.
Mrs. Forrest was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from the insurance industry to Cape Canaveral, Florida, and moved to Birmingham in 2001.
Mrs. Forrest was predeceased by her husband, Bennie Randolph "Randy" Forrest; parents, Frank and Elizabeth Phelan; and one nephew, Mike Crosby.
Survivors include one daughter, Merry Forrest Vaughn (David Vaughn) of Birmingham; one son, Bennie Randolph Forrest II (Hadassah Lynn Forrest) of Titusville, Florida; three grandchildren, Merry Brooke Vaughn Nelson, Charles Forrest Vaughn, and Bennie Randolph Forrest III; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Forrest Nelson and Lucile Parsons Nelson; and one sister, Claudia Phelan Crosby (Don Crosby).
Plans are underway for a private celebration of Beverly Phelan Forrest's life and legacy.
