Billie Jones Dolatabadi

Billie Jones Dolatabadi, 88, of Helena, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was born in Texas to Nora V. (“Bill”) and Albert C. Jones on November 30,1934, and during her childhood she moved with her family to the Birmingham, Alabama area.

Billie graduated from Shades Valley High School before receiving her Associate Degree from Business College. She worked for many years as an office administrator for Kenny and Alicia Haynes of Haynes and Haynes PC and they became like family to her, even after her retirement.

Billie was a member of the Pelham Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was baptized at the age of 16 and served faithfully for the rest of her life. Her faith was a defining part of her life.

Billie was a devoted wife to Fakhredine “Baba” Dolatabadi (predeceased) for 46 years. He was the love of her life. She received much joy from being a mother to her four children and many grandchildren, being happiest when they were all together “under one roof.” She was an avid storyteller and left out no details when she shared one of her stories with you. She loved to dance and play the piano and was extremely creative in drawing, decorating, and scrapbooking. Her kindness drew people to her and she was loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Billie was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Ronald Jones; and sister-in-law, Barbara Jones.

Survivors include Billie's children, Sussan Halstead (John), Shams Dolatabadi, Bezshan M. Dolatabadi (Andrea), and Simin Regina (Anthony); grandchildren, Chris Halstead, Stratton Dolatabadi, Rachel Johnson, Daisy Dolatabadi, Deason Dolatabadi, and Cassie Dolatabadi; step-grandchildren, Arayah Reynolds (Jamey), Brandon Russell, Jordan Regina, Sam Regina, Cole Russell, and Andrew Russell; special nephew, Mohammad Dolatabadi (Leila); as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Billie's family will greet friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
