Billy Wayne Bramblett was born on July 13, 1940 to the union of Joseph William Bramblett and Lola Picket Bramblett in Birmingham, Alabama. BW, as many called him, received his formal education at the University of Montevallo then furthered his education at The University of Alabama.
BW was a member of Community Baptist Church in Maylene, Alabama. He served as a Deacon at Helena Baptist Church for more than 20 years. He was united in holy matrimony with Lamoine Booth Bramblett on March 30, 1963 in Helena, Alabama. They were happily married for 58 years. Their union was blessed with a son, Michael W. Bramblett.
Mr. B. was employed by the Shelby County Board of Education, as a teacher and principal. He served as the principal of Helena Elementary School from 1968 to 1992. He was also an active member of the Helena Civitan Club for many years. He was extremely proud to be from Helena, Alabama and invested in the community at every opportunity. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons on the lake fishing, watching them participate in sports activities, and watching “The Andy Griffith Show.” He was also an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. BW and his family were very grateful for his caretaker of many years, Mrs. Yolawnda Green.
Billy Wayne was preceded in death by Mr. & Mrs. JW Bramblett; his brother, James Howard Bramblett; nephew, James Westmoreland Bramblett, and wife Lamoine Booth Bramblett. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Mike Bramblett (Amy McPherson Bramblett); grandsons, Bradley Joseph Bramblett (Ann Elise Bramblett), Geoffrey Reid Bramblett, and Michael Jay Bramblett; great grandchildren, John Wyatt and Collins Anne; Sister-In-law, Linda Westmoreland Bramblett and nephew, Bryan Bramblett.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:30 to 8 pm at Southern Heritage in Pelham with a graveside service to be held at Helena Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00 am.
