Bobbie Sue Bush, known as “Bebe,” to her family, was born on January 15, 1951, in Birmingham, AL. Daughter of the late Robert Walton Ray and Carol Sue Bean, she grew up in the Crumley Chapel community, northwest of Birmingham, where she enjoyed playing softball, spending time outdoors, and was a member of Crumley Chapel Methodist Church. The oldest of four sisters, Bobbie attended Minor High School, where she graduated in 1968 as a member of the annual staff, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, and a class favorite.
Bobbie spent 32 years as a customer service manager for AT&T and BAPCO, until her retirement in 2010. She was highly respected in her field and known by many for her hard work, attention to detail, and uncanny ability to solve problems. Leisurely, she enjoyed reading, visiting the beach, and spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons. She passed away peacefully on the morning of November 4, 2024, in her home in Alabaster, AL. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ray, Mother, Carol Ray, and niece, Katelyn Kemp.
Her beautiful life and memory will forever be cherished by her son, Jonathan Lucas, and his wife Mary, her two grandsons Miles and Ian Lucas, her sisters, Jackie Spann (brother-in-law Johnny), Joy Kemp, and Terri Knight (brother-in-law Shey), her nieces, Jennifer Spann and Morgan Knight, her nephews Jared Spann and Corey Knight, and their families.
A Celebration of Life for Bobbie will be announced at a later date.
