

Dr. Bobby Grant Bryant, age 66 of Birmingham, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Dr. Bryant received his Master of Public Health from Michigan and his Pharm.D. from Tennessee. During his tenure, he served both as faculty and dean at schools including Purdue University, Albany College of Pharmacy, Ohio Northern University and Samford University. He held licenses in Tennessee, Ohio, New York and Indiana and was a member of numerous professional pharmacy organizations including ACPE, AACP, APHA, ACCP, ASHP, Alabama Board of Pharmacy and Kappa Psi. Dr. Bryant was also a Rotarian.
Dr. Bryant is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Lonnie Bryant; and his sister Cora. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Irene Bryant; sons, Grant Bryant of Florence, KY and Christopher Bryant of Athens, AL; daughters, Dianne Francis of Voorheesville, NY and Kristin Meanwell of Land O’ Lakes, FL; grandchildren, Katie Bryant, Rosie Bryant, Julia Francis, Hunter Meanwell and Thomas Meanwell; sister, Jennie Fore of Jackson, TN; and brother, Lonnie Bryant of Kyoto, Japan.
Dr. Bryant’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at 11am on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dr. Bryant may be made to North Shelby Fire District, Attn: House Fund, Station 1, 4617 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, AL 35242.
