Brian Evan Callans, age 46, native and long-time resident of Birmingham, AL, passed away September 23, 2014. His career with United Parcel Service spanned 26 years, during which he was promoted to Business Manager. He was also employed as a bartender.
After graduation from Gardendale High School, Brian completed his undergraduate education at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. His favorite pastimes included spending time with his dog “Bob,” family, and friends. He was also passionate about football, traveling, helping others, and deep sea fishing.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Bill Callans. Survivors include Brian’s mother, Hilda Musgrove Killebrew and her husband Richard Kimmons; one brother, Billy Callans and his wife Shane Callans; two sisters, Angie Taylor and her husband Greg Taylor, and Alli Slee and her husband Anthony Slee; two nieces, Callan Taylor and Kinsey Callans; and three nephews, Cade Taylor, Cota Taylor, and Cole Callans.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The Celebration of Brian’s Life will continue with the 10 a.m. service on Monday, September 29, 2014 in Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial, Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
