

It is with our deepest sorrows and heavy hearts that we announce our precious mother has left us on April 23, 2026 to her final resting place. Carolyn Ann Hay Bodie, 90 years old, lived in Indian Springs Village, Alabama. Born December 30, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama. Parents were Columbus P. Hay and Lillie May Guthrie Hay. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and providing for them. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, but most of all her family gatherings at the condo where she cooked her famous fish fries, and spaghetti dinners after a long day on the boat. The things that Carolyn enjoyed the most was spending time with her children and grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. She and her husband Ralph were huge animal lovers and provided the best home for many pets over the years. Carolyn and Ralph loved going to their church and were strong in their faith. They loved teaching vacation bible school and their third grade Sunday school class. They loved to take them to Six Flags, pool parties, and movies. They treated them as they were their own. They loved traveling with their church friends and attending missionary trips to Venezuela. Those who knew Carolyn, known dearly to many as Granny, will remember her for her sweet heart and kindness. Her family knew her as the best mother and granny that anybody could ever ask for. Her faith in in the Lord was a guiding light in her life. She touched many with her love and compassion. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Molette Bodie Durham, Son Gregory Mark Bodie, granddaughters Christina Molette Durham and Marina Nicole Bodie Munger and great-grandchildren, Bodie James Carmichael and Colton Charles Carmichael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudius Ralph Bodie, father Columbus P. Hay, mother, Lillie Mae Guthrie Hay, brother Columbus Payton Hay.
A funeral service will be held at Southern Heritage in Pelham Alabama. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29,2026 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The funeral will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM. A Gathering will be held in the chapel afterwards for refreshments.
