Born and raised in Wilkes Barre, PA, Charles graduated from Forty Fort High School. He later attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College on a wrestling scholarship where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education. Charles later moved to Vestavia Hills, Alabama where he started his advertising company which he grew into a successful business over the next fifty years. Always upbeat and positive, Charles was the “fun” Dad. Whether it was taking us on a business road trip as his “associate” or taking the carpool kids for ice cream every time it was his turn to drive. Many memories of being mortified as he would sing along with the 8-track tape of Paint Your Wagon with the windows rolled down, never missing an opportunity to try and embarrass us. To his family, he was a fun, kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Joanna Nissen Aben, brother Robert (Bobby) Aben, sister Honey Pollack, mother Florence Abenmoha, and father Eugene Abenmoha. He is survived by his 4 sons Barry Aben, Richard Aben, Erik Krikorian, and Marc Aben.
