

She was born to the late Bob and Inez Fowler, April. 29, 1941, in Birmingham, AL. Charlotte graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1959 and received a BA in Education from Birmingham Southern in 1963. She also received her M.A.T. and her ED.S. from the University of Montevallo. She married John Lusco in 1964, and they lived together in Birmingham, AL.
Charlotte was a teacher, vice principal and principal until she retired in 2000 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. After retirement she continued to work for several years with ESL students in Shelby County. She was honored as an outstanding young educator in 1974. She received numerous recognitions in her 40 years as an educator.
Charlotte was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and many bridge clubs. She was a founding member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and helped establish Our Lady of the Valley parochial school.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, John Lusco. She is also survived by three children: Leslie Leopard and Tim, Keith Lusco and Ann; and Bobby Lusco. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Alyssa Leopard; Callie Leopard; Connor Leopard; Evvy Lusco; India Lusco; Renae Collum; Andie Collum. She is survived by her brother: Bob Fowler (St Louis, MO)
She is preceded in death by her two sons: David and Sean Lusco.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Catholic Family Services of Birmingham or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Visitation will be held at 5:30-7:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:00. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
