She is survived by her sons Ronald W. Holmes, LaGrange, Ga. (Natalia) , and Charles R. Holmes. Clara was preceded in death by her husband William W. Holmes; parents Roy Brakefield and Della Brakefield,
daughter in law Martha P. Holmes (Charles)
She graduated from Philips H.S.in 1947, attended Jefferson State Jr. College and Massy Business college. She worked as a secretary at Social Security for 14 years and church secretary at Birmingham Gospel Tabernacle, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school in the beginners department and served as president Alliance Women. After giving up her car she attended Faith Presbyterian Church with her son Raymond.
A graveside service will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery on Thursday, March 31st at 11:30 am
