

He was born to Burell E. Boyd and Chieko “Doris” Boyd in Fukuoka, Japan on January 21st, 1958. He was a graduate of Fairview High School in Cullman, Alabama and the University of North Alabama. He dedicated 21 years to the United States Army, retiring as a Major, before completing his career in human resources for the cities of Alabaster and Hoover. He took great pleasure in serving his church as a Sunday school teacher and deacon chairman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Burell Boyd, and survived by his mother, Doris Boyd; wife, Mary Boyd; children, Thomas Boyd, Kate Marchand (Benjamin), and Susan Boyd (Nathan Phipps); grandson, Amaury Marchand; and brother, Rick Boyd (Gail).
Interment will be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on February 11th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Siluria Baptist Church (10696 Hwy 119, Alabaster, Alabama 35007) on February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM. We ask all attendees to honor our family by wearing a mask.
