

On May 7, 2011 Constance Mary DiGiorgio Lusco went to be with the Lord. She was a loving wife and mother who worked for 38 years at Lusco Food grocery store; she never put herself first in anything she did in life and she loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Constance DiGiorgio and a brother Johnny DiGiorgio. She was 81 years old and is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Dominic (Dommie) R. Lusco, her children Rita A. Lusco, Samuel (Lisa Baldone) and Michael (Rhonda) Lusco. She is also survived by her sisters Rosalie Capanotta and Sammylie (George) Kurtts her brother George “Bubby” (Pearl) DiGiorgio, brother in laws Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lusco, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lusco, Mr. and Mrs. John Lusco, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lusco, Francis J. Lusco (Deceased), grand children (Connie Newell (Michael E. Newell), Chris Lusco, Alex Lusco (Leann Stokes), Jonathan Lusco and Kristen Lusco, great grand children (Claire Elizabeth and Mary Caroline Newell) and many aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Elizabeth Moreland Lusco, Blanca Juarez and Southern Care Hospice team, Karol, Rachael, Crystal, Deborah and Pam. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church (5514 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, 35242) on Monday, May 9th 6-7:30 pm and funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 10th beginning with a 10am funeral mass at the OLV. Graveside will follow at Southern Heritage cemetery (475 Cahaba Valley Road, Birmingham). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Alzheimer’s of central Alabama www.alzac.org in her name or Our Lady of the Valley Church building fund where she was a member for 36 years.
