Daniel Sawzak

Daniel (Dan) David Sawzak, age 85, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Margaret Sawzak, brothers Kasmir, Zigmund, Theodore, Frank, Adolph and sister, Virginia Sawzak Pierce.

Dan served his country from 1960 to 1966 in the United States Army, and upon his return from Germany, he attended the University of California at Hayward. Dan worked for Pacific Bell, AT&T and BellSouth Telecommunications for a total of 25 years. Upon retirement in 1991, he opened his own automotive restoration business where he restored and built several beautiful classic cars. In addition to tinkering with cars, he loved traveling with his family, music and reading.

Dan is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha (Marti) Hendrick Sawzak, and 4 daughters: Dina Annette Sawzak Link (Tim), grandchildren William Roger Link, Julia Annette Link; daughter Nicole Barbara Sawzak Jarrett (Randy) and granddaughter Amanda Barbara Jarrett; daughter Christina Margaret Sawzak Kosik (William) - grandchildren Baden August Kosik, Marley Anya Kosik; and daughter Samantha Jane Sawzak.

Inurnment will take place at a later time in a private family ceremony
