David "Shepp" Sheppard

“Shepp” attended Akron University and Murray State University. He was employed 30 years as a production supervisor with General Tire and Rubber Company.

He was an avid fisherman, and he actively volunteered with the Kairos Prison Ministry and with correctional ministry through his home church, Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL.

Shepp was predeceased by his parents, Upton and Katherine Sheppard. Survivors include Shepp’s wife, Barbara “BJ” Sheppard; two sons, Russ Wheeler (Simone) and Greg Wheeler (Joni); five grandchildren, Cole Wheeler, Caroline Wheeler, Emily Parish, Ethan Parish, and Ella Grace Wheeler; three sisters, Faith Milligan (Gene), Janet Babcock (Jack), and Linda Harrison (Tom); and one brother, Tim Sheppard (Charlene).

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service on Monday, March 13, 2017 in the chapel on the Grants Mill Road campus of Church of the Highlands, Birmingham.
