

David Ray Thrasher of Indian Springs, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born in Sheffield, Alabama, spent his early life in Florence, Alabama, and moved to Birmingham, Alabama over 30 years ago.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
David and his wife of 30 years, Dana Latham Thrasher, have lived in Indian Springs for the past 20 years and have raised their son, Logan Thrasher, and three daughters, Lauren Thrasher Walton (Noah), Leah Thrasher and Lynlee Thrasher, in the Oak Mountain community that David loved dearly and was so happy and proud to call his home. He loved and cherished his time spent with his sweet granddaughter, Harper Walton, over the past three years.
David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, father-in-law, siblings, and several close friends. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other extended family, and countless friends and neighbors who he loved dearly and considered to be his family.
David worked in home construction and renovation in his younger years and spent his later years being an amazing stay-at-home father. He was a loving, supportive and encouraging father and husband. He was a humble man, and his kindness and gentle spirit were known by so many.
David found joy in the simple things in life and loved being outdoors. He loved his community and his country immensely. His love for his family was and always will be their greatest source of strength. His hobby and passion was collecting and restoring antique cars.
